Editorial policy

Design Overflow Editorial Policy

Our editorial policy keeps each review grounded in production context, evidence quality, cost clarity, and transparent commercial disclosure.

Our Standards

Design Overflow reviews are guided by four principles:

  1. Fit clarity — We state who the product is for and who should skip it
  2. Evidence quality — Claims are checked against documentation, pricing, licensing, user workflow, and product behavior
  3. Cost honesty — We address renewals, upgrade pressure, and deal quality before recommending a purchase
  4. Output relevance — We prioritize products that improve real creative work, not just products with strong marketing pages

What We Do Not Do

  • Accept payment for reviews or coverage placement
  • Let affiliate commission rates influence which products we recommend
  • Publish content that has been reviewed or approved by any brand
  • Guarantee favorable coverage in exchange for product access, samples, or commission rates

Updating Our Content

We review and update our articles when significant product changes, new information, or pricing shifts affect our recommendations. Each article displays its most recent review date.
